About
Hi, this is me, Rico Lighthouse. Well, I’m th’ guy in th’ hat. With my lovely wife Beth.
I’m a writer, woodworker, musician, father, and i tinker around with bicycles, among other things. A few years ago i started writing down all my memories. Yep, everything i could ever remember. It’s an impossible task, i know, but as i shared some of these stories with people, they’d share some of their stories with me. One of th’ things i’ve learned from this endeavor is that sharing stories creates a strong bond with people, kinda like playing music together. It lets you know that even though we’re different, we all have similar experiences, similar feelings and emotions and reactions to things. Turns out we’re not as different from one another as we’re sometimes led to believe, and i like that. I like finding common ground with people, especially with people who might appear to be very different from me. Stories are a good way of doing that.
Also, while writing everything down, i started to find ideas for stories, made up stories based on things i’ve seen, heard, experienced. So i set out to write a novel. I’ve written a couple now and am working on getting them in print. Stay tuned for more on that front.
Aside from writing, one of my favorite things to do is carve spoons and bowls, and turn wood on my lathe. I’m heavily influenced by traditional tools and techniques, and use them every chance i get. On the From th’ Woods page, you’ll be able to find unique, one of a kind wood wares available for purchase.
Thanks for visiting my site. If you have any questions (i love a good dialog) or want to share any memories, leave a comment, or click th’ contact link, and I’ll get back to you.
